Bubbins is a bulldog that was discovered in rural Kentucky and was in poor health. Not only was he a mere skeleton, but he was also covered in scabies. The homeless dog was so frail from lack of nutrition that he could not roam around and forage for meals. This made his health issues become even worse.
Queen City Bulldog Rescue, a Cincinnati-based nonprofit, heard about the dog’s plight and quickly removed him from the streets. They then gave Bubbins to T.J. and Nikki, a couple that frequently volunteers as foster parents for the rescue organization.
Because of his contagious skin condition, Bubbins was placed under quarantine. The compassionate couple had their own beloved dog, and they had to keep the foster dog isolated from him until he recovered. Even so, it was evident that the two canines were eager to get together. They would frequently glance at each other through the glass door.
Despite his difficult past, Bubbins was an extremely loving and trustworthy dog. When he became stronger, he frequently went to his foster parents seeking attention. He loves getting near to humans and giving his adoration. Perhaps he is grateful for being removed from the streets.
After 45 days, Bubbins was finally clear of his scabies. The first time he got to play with the other dog of the pair, they played for the entire day. The former stray was making good growth both emotionally and physically. He continued to develop each day.
Within six months, he had already doubled his size.
Throughout his path to recovery, a couple monitored his development. Even though Bubbins was ill, they were interested in adopting him. When he had fully recovered, they were able to take the dog home.
The bulldog was overjoyed to join a family who also owned a dog of the same breed. It appears that Bubbins has found the family with whom he might live forever, as they have become rather close very quickly.
