Here’s a story of a Pit Bull who decided to go on his own little adventure. Unfortunately, what set out as a chasing game quickly turned out for the worst.
In North Carolina, Rocky the Pit Bull chased a possum that got into their home. He just could not resist the urge to chase the possum out. This pesky intruder ran inside a large pipe, and the chase continued until Rocky fell into a deep dug ground and was unable to get to the other side of the pipe.
When his owner saw that his dog got stuck, quickly assessed the situation and reached out to the Catawba County Animal Control for immediate assistance. Officers of the animal control team needed more help and contacted Claremont Rescue.
Once both teams were present, they brainstormed on how to get Rocky out. They tried to figure out exactly where in the pipe the Pit Bull was stuck. They dug holes in different spots trying to find him and finally were able to pin down exactly where he was. They dug underground around 100 feet and saw him about 50 feet in that hole. Instead of being scared, Rocky looked like he was just annoyed and disappointed that he was unable to catch the possum. It took two and a half hours to get Rocky out from the ground.
When they manage to get Rocky out, the dog excitedly approached each one of his rescuers. The owner of this Pit Bull was delighted to have him back safe and sound.
The Pit Bull’s owner was pleased to have him back. Here’s to hoping Rocky would stop and think twice before he ever runs off and chase a possum again. His little adventure ended up in a mess, but Rocky got lucky that his rescuers managed to get him out of that pipe.
