Jermaine Jackson is passionate about his work. He’s worked for Waste Management for 26 years, and his job entails carting away items that people no longer want. However, on a rainy Friday morning, he accidentally discovered an abandoned dog in a dumpster.
The dog would’ve ended up in a very bad situation if not for his alert eyes. Jackson has two pets of his own and is a dog lover himself. So he was upset to see a dog staring back at him from within the dumpster in Old Towne Petersburg as he was about to throw it into his vehicle.
It’s a little depressing because she’s sitting alone with a sorrowful expression on her face. She’d be right in the back of the truck right now or crushed by heavy garbage if he hadn’t seen her. He assumed someone purposely threw the dog because she was too small to jump into the dumpster.
He rescued her from the bin and reported her to Animal Control. Because Animal Control was not yet open, Jackson constructed a makeshift shelter for the dog. He went out and got some blankets, food, and water before calling animal control.
Jackson said that the dog was nice and friendly. He just sat with her while he waited for Animal Control to arrive. When they came, they discovered that the abandoned dog recently gave birth to puppies as she was full of milk.
Jackson said that animal control seems gentle and compassionate. He can only wish that the dog would soon find a loving home. After safely surrendering the dog, the event still left him feeling depressed.
He had two dogs of his own, and he could never imagine sending them away simply because he no longer wanted them. No one wants to be thrown away just because they no longer have any use for you. Hopefully, this story will teach everyone to treasure life and extend a helping hand whenever needed.
