While driving through the interstate, an Indiana State Police Trooper named Allison Marlowe got stuck in traffic. At first thought, she believed there was an incident but then she received an alarming phone call.
Saving Grace
Allison was informed about an innocent dog that got dumped on the interstate. A lot of drivers tried reaching out to the canine but she was too scared to move.
It didn’t take very long for the officer to find the poor dog hiding under a truck. Luckily, Allison was experienced in rescuing dogs so she knew how to soothe the terrified canine. Once the dog willingly went to Allison, she named the pup Grace.
A few witnesses were able to explain the sketchy van that left the puppy on the side of the road. Grace was incredibly skinny and showed evident signs of neglect.
Bystanders tried helping out by providing food and water but the timid puppy had a hard time trusting them. All the commotion lead to a traffic jam and a few unhappy drivers.
Moving forward
Allison thanked all of the good samaritans that did their part in making sure Grace was alright. She then carried the dog into her car and made their way to the Lake County Animal Control.
The road slowly began to clear up once the small event was done. Allison knew that the malnourished and dehydrated puppy needed immediate medical attention so she hurried to the facility.
Once Allison and the dog got to their destination, Grace was quickly transferred to an observation room where the vets could take a closer look at her. After a few hours, the doctors explained that there weren’t any major issues but the dog still needed a few weeks to return to a healthy state.
Allison was so glad to hear that her rescue dog was finally getting better. The animal shelter said that once Grace was fully healed, she’d be up for adoption.
