Most stray dogs that get rescued are terrified and have no idea what’s going to happen to them. These dogs have little to no experience interacting with humans and they just don’t know what to expect. Understandably, they would be completely shut down and cower in fear.
Fortunately, many of these dogs get fostered by amazing people who help them realize that humans can be trusted and there’s a better life in store for them. When a pit bull named Elle was rescued, she was totally shut down and completely terrified. Elle also needed surgery to remove one of her eyes that was severely infected, which made it even scarier for her.
Thankfully, a woman named Remi was assigned to foster Elle. Remi knew that she needed to be patient with Elle. Remi took things slow with Elle even if it meant taking three hours just to walk down a flight of stairs. For days, Elle would keep her distance from Remi and other people.
The only time when Elle showed a little bit of happiness was when she was out on walks. Remi decided to incorporate daily walks on Elle’s schedule and would take Remi out on morning walks and to the dog park during the evening. This helped Elle become happier but it still wasn’t enough.
Fortunately, Remi had her own dog who got along really well with Elle. Remi’s dog seemed to teach Elle that everything was going to be alright. Soon enough, Elle started playing with dog toys. Although she really didn’t know how to play with the toys, she soon learned how by watching Remi’s dog.
After a few months, Elle really came out of her shell and decided that Remi can be trusted. After Elle gave Remi puppy kisses, that’s when Remi knew that Elle was finally ready to be adopted into a forever home. Remi was a little sad that she was going to part with Elle but she knew that there are more dogs like Elle that needed her help.
Elle eventually found the perfect forever home. She has a new doggie sibling who she completely adores and a really loving family that spoils her with love. Here’s a heartwarming video showing Elle’s transformation thanks to Remi’s hard work and love.
