Maya Fairweather walked with her boyfriend’s pit bull puppy, Apollo. What she does not know is that Apollo is a fearless puppy. He got his name from a Greek god and helped his owner’s girlfriend see the light by saving her.
Maya said that Apollo was a good boy from the very start, but she never knew that at a young age, he was already brave enough to save her life. She is currently 18 years old. On the other hand, Apollo was only five months old, yet he did the unthinkable.
Maya stayed at the apartment of her boyfriend, Carlos Guzman. She then took Apollo to the Red Hook Recreation Area park around 10 p.m. Her energetic friend could enjoy it without people, so she removed his leash to let Apollo run around the park.
She stated that someone pulled off her headphones, thinking it was her boyfriend, Carlos, suddenly grabbing her. To her surprise, it was not her boyfriend but some creepy stranger.
The stranger grabbed Maya by her jacket and wrestled her to the ground. The man then tried to pull her pants off. It shocked Maya, afraid, and saw nothing but darkness.
She then said that as she fell on her hands, she closed her eyes, seeing nothing but darkness, as the rumor said that if you see their face, they will end your life, and she felt scared for her life.
Luckily, Maya kept Apollo’s leash in her pocket, figuring that the stranger would not realize that she was with someone who would protect her from danger. Someone named after the Greek god of the sun, Apollo. She was right, and Apollo came to her aid.
Apollo came right away and bit his leg. Apollo chomped so hard that the man struggled to shake him off. Maya took the chance to run, and Apollo released the stranger, who then ran away crying.
Maya acclaimed Apollo’s heroism and said that she could only imagine the worst if Apollo was not around and that she was fortunate and thankful for his heroism.
She also said that Apollo was the sweetest dog she had ever known and that she had never thought that he would bite someone because he was amiable and loved to jump. Everyone adores him.
Maya returned to the apartment, and her boyfriend’s sister accompanied her to the police station. The law enforcement looked for the attacker. She is now safe and recovered from her traumatic experience.
Carlos’s mother, Sonia, never really wanted to have a dog, but he won her over after Apollo’s heroic deed. She even said that Apollo is a hero because he protected Maya, and she is happy she escaped.
