Molly Birch is a 14-year-old girl who is struggling to cope with the effects of cerebral palsy. Having her pet around, a Cocker Spaniel named Archie, helps her get through the day. The seven-year-old pooch is not trained to be a service dog, but he provides the teenager with the love and companionship she constantly requires.
The teenage girl and her pet have been together ever since the dog was a puppy. Through the years, they have developed a close relationship. Molly, who lives with her family in New Yorkshire, relies on the dog for many things.
That is why when Molly learned that her pet was stolen, she was devastated.
Asking for help
According to Molly’s parents, burglars had broken into their home while they were sleeping. Archie was stolen, among their other possessions. They reported the theft to the authorities and set out to do whatever it took to get their pet back.
The first thing they did was to share missing posters on social media platforms. Their posts were quickly spread in their community. And when Molly made an emotional video asking for help, a lot of individuals couldn’t help but feel sad for her. More and more people were getting involved in the search.
Public demand
The public outrage grew each day. They spoke their anger and warned the thieves that they would be tracked down. The threats started flowing in, and the dognappers must have felt scared, and decided to let the dog go.
Several weeks after the theft, Archie was found wandering alone and was returned to Molly. Her family was overjoyed with the dog’s return and thanked everyone who showed them support and made it possible to get their pet back. Thankfully, Archie was not harmed.
The local police are still investigating the crime and have not released many details about the ongoing case.
