Have you tried talking to your dog through a phone call where he can only hear your voice? And do you think he can instantly recognize your voice? While there is no definitive answer to this, it has been found that reactions of pups tend to differ even if they hear a familiar voice.
They may hear you but since they can’t see you, they aren’t sure if it’s really you. They may start barking, sniffing, and whining as well because they cannot seem to confirm if it’s really you and why you are not anywhere nearby.
One adorable dog named Floyd has confirmed this hypothesis that our dogs can recognize our voice when if we’re not there in person. Here’s a heartwarming story of a Bernese mountain dog who lives with his human sister, Morgan, in Chicago.
One day, when Morgan left her parent’s house to attend college in Texas, poor Floyd had to deal with the fact that he wouldn’t be seeing his favorite person for some time. Morgan also knew that she would miss her furry bud too.
The day came when Morgan had the chance to visit her parent’s house. Floyd had no clue that she was already home. As Morgan was observing Floyd standing on the house’s front porch, that’s when she had an idea. Why not start talking to him through the doorbell camera and see what happens?
Right then and there, she called his name and immediately caught his attention. With her sweet voice, she greeted him several times and told him how much she loves him.
Floyd looked perplexed at first and then realized that the voice was coming somewhere near their door. So, he goes near the doorbell and starts licking it, the same way he does when he would see Morgan face-to-face. Right then and there, they had a precious moment together.
It was not mentioned what happened next, but we’re pretty sure that Morgan showed up soon so they could shower each other with lots of hugs and kisses this time!
