Lux, a 6-month-old puppy, had already endured more than enough suffering to last a lifetime. His human has been abusing him for a long time, but the Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue came to his rescue.
Lux was riddled with shattered bones and fractures all over his body. On top of that, his human had attempted to dump him into a river after beating him. Fortunately, this heartless human is being punished for her acts, but Lux still has a long way to go before he may live happily ever after.
Lux’s human severely beaten him, shattering both of his back legs and fracturing his skull. According to reports, his front leg was also injured at one point, but it did not recover properly. Lux was at his lowest point when his human beat him and attempted to dump him into Michigan’s Macomb County River. With so many injuries, the dog would have drowned if help hadn’t arrived.
Police and investigators arrived just in time to arrest the perpetrator and take the dog into custody. The authorities brought Lux to a veterinarian for immediate medical attention, which included multiple surgeries.
The dog is currently undergoing medical care, and it has been established that he was exposed to horrendous abuse over an extended period. The dog’s injuries will necessitate numerous surgeries to cure, but he is expected to recover completely.
Lux has also been confined in a loving foster home, where he will be given the time he needs to heal completely. He won’t be available for adoption until his injuries have been thoroughly evaluated.
Amber Sunde, Lux’s abuser, has been identified. Fortunately, the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office has authorized charges against her for this horrible act. The suspect will face one count of third-degree animal abuse, a felony punishable by four years in prison.
As Lux recovers, Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue will provide updates. They may have to remove one of his legs, but they will do everything possible to avoid this. They want his recovery to be as speedy and painless as possible for him. Then he’ll be able to find the loving home he deserves.
