Isn’t it nice when a school makes a dog a part of its workforce? A pooch’s presence in the school not only makes the environment safe but also lively.
A Golden Retriever named Meg is a facility dog for Goshen Middle School in Ohio. She always makes sure that the school’s students and staff members feel calm and supported. Everyone appreciates her help, which is why she’s been included in the school yearbook. She even gets her own photo.
Here’s Meg’s adorable story.
Meg the school dog
According to Wendy Flynn, Goshen Middle School’s principal, Meg has provided many students and staff with love and comfort. She shared that the school even has a QR code in every hallway that students can use to schedule a one-on-one time session or class visit with the lovable Golden Retriever. Flynn said that the school was fortunate that the Goshen Education Foundation and their district helped bring in the dog.
Before even coming to Goshen Middle School, Meg had been prepared for the job. She underwent training at Circle Tail, a reputable nonprofit service dog organization.
The principal shared that they considered Meg a member of the Goshen Middle School family. As such, she got her own yearbook photo. In her headshot, Meg was sporting a bandana and was all smiles.
