Cali was a stray dog before the di Bartolo family of Long Island, New York adopted her. Now, she is loved by her owners, their children, and another rescued dog. The owners treated both canines as though they were their own children.
One day, the di Bartolo family realized that Cali was abducted from their suburban house, and they were overcome with sadness. They never succeeded in finding their dog despite their best efforts.
Two years later, they experienced an extremely emotional reunion. However, it appeared that their troubles were not yet resolved.
A young naval recruit on a drive from her base in Virginia to her home in New Jersey stopped at a petrol station just outside the state. While fueling her vehicle, she observed an extremely malnourished dog, barely able to drag herself around.
The young lady called Broken Promises Sanctuary, a non-profit animal rescue organization, because she felt sad for the helpless dog. After explaining the issue, both parties decided that the naval recruit would transport the dog to the group’s shelter.
After Cali was handed over to the veterinarians at the shelter, the dog received emergency medical care and underwent a battery of tests. They afterward cleaned her up and fed her. When they checked her for a microchip, the employees at the shelter were ecstatic to discover that she had one.
They contacted the di Bartolos who have since relocated to North Carolina as their number was on the microchip.
Cali’s family was astonished that their pet was found after two years. However, the dog was too feeble to go at that time. Therefore, she remained with the rescue squad until she was physically able to make the trip.
Cali became healthier, although it appeared she still had health issues. Occasionally, blood would flow from her nose. She was reexamined, and it was found out that she has a tumor growing in her nasal cavity.
The charity then assisted the family in finding a local vet. Additionally, they have begun asking for donations to help the dog get the treatment that she needed.
Cali and her family are reunited, and her owners have pledged to do all things possible to assist their dog in overcoming her health issue.
